About

Every map used to have edges where the known world ran out. Mapmakers filled those spaces with sea serpents, rumored kingdoms and the occasional honest here be dragons. Those blank spaces are where I like to spend my time.

I’m Nicholas. I make things, and I think out loud about them. Lost Worlds is where both end up.

What you’ll find here

Work. Projects I’ve built and shipped, plus a few I abandoned halfway. I’ll tell you how they were made and what went wrong. The process is usually more interesting than the polished result.

Long-form writing. Detailed articles about the things I can’t stop thinking about.

Random thoughts. Shorter notes on creativity and craft, and whatever else caught my attention this week.

The deal

Nothing here is final. These are field notes, not monuments, and I change my mind when someone gives me a good reason to. If you think I’ve got something wrong, tell me. That’s half the point of writing it down.

The whole site is generated by a small program I wrote in Odin.
